A musical learning experience that progresses from the first beats to a collective piece full of energy. Each section learns its rhythm, listens to others, and realizes that music only works when all contributions come together at the right moment.

What the activity is
The Rhythm Workshop is a participatory musical experience led by percussionists. After a body percussion warm-up, each participant receives an instrument and learns a simple pattern. Sections are progressively incorporated until a complete piece is formed, featuring variations and interludes. The session concludes with performances of basic batucada arrangements.
How the experience feels
The initial beats sound scattered, but throughout the workshop, the basic rhythms are learned and fluency is gained. When each section has its own rhythm, the facilitator signals for one section to join in and then another. Suddenly, the group discovers a common pulse. Boom, tucuchún, tucuchún, tucuchún... it's hard to believe that your team can sound so good.
What makes it special
Each participant plays a real instrument and can experiment with different sounds. In contrast to body percussion, this experience emphasizes the richness of a full band and the coordination between sections.

Warm-up
It begins with an introduction to body percussion.
Distribution of instruments
Each participant receives a base instrument. Later, they can be exchanged.
Learn patterns
The entire group learns each of the rhythms of the sections.

The patterns come together in the final piece.

A final reflection is made, and we conclude with a group photo.

Open space, indoor or outdoor, with participants arranged in a large circle or semicircle. The layout must ensure direct visibility of the facilitators.
